Chaos Butterfly

An extraordinary piece in the collection, Mangini flipped his drumsticks for a different visual effect. The impact of the flipped stick, resulted in a direct hit to the LED base of drumstick, makes the colors stronger, more distinct and a bit more slender. These strong solid lines showcase the quantity of drumhits involved in producing this visual. The shape involved is the result of going from snare to various cymbals with each hand identically working in tandem on either side of the drumkit. Once inverted at SceneFour's studio, Mangini coined the piece "Chaos Butterfly."

Measuring 40"x 30" on canvas, there are a total of 50 in the edition. All pieces are individually signed by Mike Mangini.

This collection of artwork, titled "Symmetry Beyond Planck," is a career first for Mike Mangini. Crafted over the last year, Mangini is one of a highly select series of drumming pioneers building fine artwork from rhythm. The medium, we call "Rhythmic Expressionism." An extraordinary effort from start to finish, the work is intended to unfold over time for viewers as they live with the pieces in their homes and studios.

This work is designed to be vibrant, abstract and display the distinct artform found within Mangini's rhythmic approach, from sound to sight. Through this process, Mangini is working with drumsticks that light in a variety of ways much like a painter would use paint with oils or acrylics. His movements throughout the beats are similar to paintstrokes. Working with art team/publisher SceneFour, these elements are brought into a studio as color channels and movements are scrutinized meticulously to bring forth Mangini's intended visual for an extraordinary final image before it is laid to canvas.

In total, 10 different works are released in this collection, with each rhythmic form conceptualized and named by Mike Mangini. Each piece is available in small editions and individually signed by Mike Mangini. All are available worldwide to collectors through www.mikemanginiart.com. Each includes a Certificate of Authenticity by SceneFour.
